Habrera Hativeet
Formed in 1977, Habrera Hativeet has performed around the world with Shlomo Bar, the founder, and features Sephardic and Eastern music fused with modern Israel. Bar, born in Rabat, Morocco, composes most of the group's songs. He plays drums and flute and also arranges much of the music. The rest of the band is: Manashe Sasson, on Santur; Nitsan-Ken Razel, violin; Samson Khamkar on violin, the sitar and the flute; Ilan Ben-Ami, guitar; Yael Offenbach, Tabla; and Yaacob Segal, piano, ud, and bass. Habrera hativeet have 9 CDs, some of which were originally released in LP. The group tours extensively world wide. The website features a video clip from The 11th Jewish Music Festival in Cracow - Poland, July 2001. Having attended a concert of this group at Brandeis, I can attest to the excitement experienced in a HH concert.

Halevi Choral Society
The Halevi Choral Society is a professional Jewish choir located in Chicago, IL under the direcction of Judith Karzen. Founded as a community chorus in 1926 by Harry Coopersmith and Hyman Reznick, the choral group, devotes its entire repertoire to Jewish music. Styles include liturgical, Israeli, Yiddish, Ladino and secular Jewish music. The Choral group presents many new works and commissions compositions. Nurit Hirsch
Israeli composer of popular songs. Nurit Hirsch wrote such tunes as "Oseh Shalom" and "Bashanah Haba'ah" which are so popular that they have become accepted almost as "folk". She's written nearly a thousand songs.

Linda Hirshhorn
Vocalist, Cantor and composer. Founder and director of jazz a cappella ensemble "Vocolot" , a California Arts Council Touring Artist group. Active primarily in the Western United States. Her discography includes "Marcia Falks Blessings in Song" with Fran Avni,"Heart Beat" (2002), "Behold" (1997), "Roots and Wings" (1992), "Gather Round" (also songbook)(1989), "Skies Ablaze", and "More than Luck and a Prayer". Works at the Conservative congregation Temple Beth Shalom, San Leandro, CA as a cantor since 1988. Directed first Jewish Women's International Chorus in Kiev (1994). Hirshhorn has also written songs that became part of a UAHC social justice recording, including "Circle Chant" and "Homeless Blues".

The Hora Entertainment Dance Group of Miami, Florida, has a website devoted to Israeli dance and music performance. Begun in Argentina in 1986, one of the directors, Silvio Berlfein, moved to Miami in 1990 and has continued to build a dance troupe there.

Bronislaw Huberman
A very thorough and complete site about the great Polish-Jewish violinist and musician, this site includes biographical materials that include scans of primary documents, letters and articles. Some amazing photos, stories and anecdotes. It includes many articles and texts about Huberman as well as excerpts from interviews. Materials about his work in Israel in the 1930's. There's a discography and a bibliography. Part of the biographical materials come from Huberman's secretary.
